BLOCK 57 - REPSOL BURLINGTON License Contract for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Block 57 with Repsol Exploración Perú, Sucursal del Perú and Burlington Resources Peru Limited, Sucursal Peruana, approved by S.D. Nº 043-2003-EM, was signed on January 27, 2004.The new license Contract for the Exploration and Exploitation of Block 57 as a work commitment to be executed in five periods for the exploration phase which include Geological and geochemical studies, the reprocessing of 500 km 2D seismic and the drilling of four wells or the execution of equivalent Exploration Working Units (UTE) according to the equivalence agreed within the Contract and referred to the different options which the contract holder may elect.This block is located in the Ucayali Basin, in the Junin, Ucayali and Cuzco Departments and has an extension of 611,067.814 Ha. The investment for this contract is 45 million US dollars.
BLOCK 100 - CONSULTORA DE PETROLEO On March 26th, 2004, PERUPETRO S.A. subscribed the Contract of License for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in the Block 100 with Consultora de Petróleo S.A., approved by Supreme Decree N° 002-2004-EM.The Contract of License for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in the Block 100, establishes six periods for the exploration phase, with a minimum work commitment that includes the geological studies of the contract area, the acquisition, processing and interpretation of 60 km 2D seismic and drilling two wells or the execution of equivalent Exploration Working Units (UTE) according to the equivalence agreed within the Contract and referred to the different options which the contract holder may elect.Block 100 with an extension of 7,700 Ha. is located in the Southern Ucayali Basin in the Loreto Department
.BLOCK 101 - OCCIDENTAL PETROLERA On April 02, 2004, PERUPETRO S.A. signed the License Contract for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons – Block 101, with the Contract Holder Occidental Petrolera del Perú, Sucursal del Perú. This Contract was approved by S.D. N° 005-2004-EM. The new License Contract has a work minimum program including six periods for the exploration phase in which the execution of 100 km 2D seismic reprocessing, the acquisition of 200 km 2D seismic and the drilling of four exploratory wells or their equivalence in Exploration Work Units are considered. This block is located in the Marañon Basin, Loreto Department and has an extension of 744,434.477 Ha.
BLOCK 103 - OCCIDENTAL PETROLERA License Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Block 103 with Occidental Petrolera del Perú, Inc., Sucursal del Perù, approved by S.D. Nº 026-2004-EM, was signed on August 09, 2004.The new license Contract for Block 103 has a work commitment to be executed in five periods for the exploitation phase which include geological and geophysical studies, the acquisition of 400 km 2D seismic and drilling two exploratory wells or the execution of equivalent Exploration Working Units (UTE) according to the equivalence agreed within the Contract and referred to the different options which the contract holder may elect.This block is located in the Marañon Basin, in the Loreto and San Martin Departments and has an extension of 870,896.168 Ha
BLOCK Z-33 – PETROTECH PERUANA On September 1st, 2004, PERUPETRO S.A. signed the License Contract for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons – Block Z–33, with the Contract Holder PETRO-TECH PERUANA S.A. This Contract was approved by S.D. N° 025-2004-EM. The new License Contract has a work minimum program to be executed which include the acquisition and interpretation of 1,500 km 2D seismic, the acquisition of 150 km. 3D seismic and the drilling of three exploratory wells or their equivalence in Exploration Work Units. Block Z-33 with an extension of 849,566 Ha. is located in the offshore region in front of Lima and Chincha cities in the Pisco Basin. Water depth is between 400 and 1,200 feet in the basin. The investment for this contract is around 22 million US dollars.
BLOCK 56 – PLUSPETROL / HUNT/ SK / TECPETR OL / SONATRACH License Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Block 56 with Pluspetrol Peru Corporation S.A. - Hunt Oil Company of Peru LLC, Sucursal del Perù – SK Corporation, Sucursal Peruana - Tecpetrol del Perù S.A.C. and Sonatrach Peru Corporation S.A.C, approved by S.D. Nº 033-2004-EM, was signed on September 07, 2004.The new license Contract has a work commitment to be executed in two periods for the exploitation phase which include drilling one well (or 200 square km. 3D seismic), drilling 4 wells (or drilling 3 wells plus the reconditioning of one well) and the Installation of a module for natural gas cryogenic processing with a minimum capacity of 220 MMDF/day inside the Liquid Separation Plant. For the rest of the contract the Contract Holder must execute the following:
Each year the contractor will submit the following:
- An annual working program and detailed estimation of the income, costs, expenses and investments for the following calendar year.
- A working program and the projection of the income, costs, expenses and investments for the development and/or production for the following five calendar years.
- A forecast of the volume, quality and composition of the hydrocarbons to be produced.Block 56 is located in the Pagorene field, Urubamba River Valley, in La Convención province, Cusco Department and has an extension of 58,500.00 ha.The investment for this contract is 550 million US dollars.
H. CONTRACTS SUBSCRIBED IN 2003
BLOCK 90 - REPSOLOn December 10, 2003, PERUPETRO S.A. signed the License Contract for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons – Block 90, with the Contractor conformed by Repsol Exploración Perú, Branch Office of Peru, with a sharing of 76.15% and Burlington Resources Peru Limited, Branch Office of Peru, with a sharing of 76.16%. This Contract was approved by S.D. N° 033-2003-EM. The new License Contract has a work minimum program including five periods for the exploration phase in which the acquisition of 2D seismic and the drilling of four exploratory wells or the execution of 1,238 Exploration Work Units are considered, according to the equivalence agreed within the Contract and referred to the different options which the contractor may elect. The estimated investment for the work minimum program is of 55 MMUS$.This block is located in the Ucayali Basin and has an extension of 880,670.46 Ha.
BLOCK XIX - BPZ ENERGY INC License Contract for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Block XIX with BPZ ENERGY INC., SUCURSAL PERU, approved by S.D. Nº 040-2003-EM, was signed on December 12, 2003.The new License Contract for the Exploration and Exploitation of Block XIX, has a Work Minimum Program, with five exploration periods for the exploration phase including the acquisition of 2D seismic and drilling three exploratory wells or the execution of 461 Exploration Work Units, according to the equivalence agreed within the Contract and referred to the different options which the contractor may elect. The estimated investment of the work minimum program is of 5 million dollars.This block is located in the Tumbes Progreso Basin, Tumbes Department and has an extension of 191,441.16 Ha.
I. CONTRACTS SUBSCRIBED IN 2002 BLOCK Z-6 - PETRO-TECH
On March 20th, 2002, PERUPETRO S.A. subscribed the Contract of License for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in the Block Z-6 (offshore) with PETRO-TECH PERUANA S.A., approved by Supreme Decree N° 005-2002-EM.The Contract of License for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in the Block Z-6, establishes six periods for the exploration phase, with a minimum work that includes the drilling of four exploratory wells, the accomplishment of a number of geological, geophysical and petrophysical studies, the reprocessing of at least 1800 kilometers 2D seismic lines and the acquisition, processing and interpretation of at least 2000 kilometers 2D seismic lines.
